FastShip

Delivery at your fingertips

Fastship is an international shipping web application built to make sending parcels from Thailand overseas more accessible and straightforward. Starting from an early-stage startup with a simple concept, I took on a hybrid role, leading UI/UX design while also building the frontend, working closely alongside the CEO and CTO in a fast-moving startup environment.

The Problem

FastShip's original interface was built to function, not to convert. As an early-stage startup entering a competitive international shipping market, the product struggled with four core issues that were quietly costing users at every step.

An Outdated Visual Experience

The UI carried the aesthetic of an older generation of web design lacking the polish and trustworthiness expected of a platform handling cross-border shipments. First impressions weren't landing, and the dated look made it hard for users to take the product seriously.

Unclear Communication of Services

Users had no easy way to understand the differences between shipping options sea freight vs. air freight, pricing structures, and what each service included. The information existed, but the design wasn't doing the work of making it easy to compare and decide.

No Sense of Progress in the Flow

Without a stepper or clear step indicators, users moving through the creating parcel process had no way of knowing where they were or how many steps remained. The lack of guidance created confusion and led to unnecessary drop-off at critical stages.

No Proof of Credibility

As a newcomer in the market, FastShip needed more than a functional platform it needed trust. Without a clear service overview, partner logos, or customer testimonials, hesitant users had no reason to feel confident enough to complete a booking.

From Problem to Product

Visual Refresh

Rebuilding the Design System

The design was rebuilt from the ground up introducing softer rounded components, refined typography weight, a more intentional color palette, and smarter interactions like an autocomplete dropdown for country search, creating a cleaner and more intuitive experience.

Progress Clarity

Guiding Users Through the Flow

A step-by-step progress indicator was introduced at the top of the page, giving users a clear view of the entire shipping process how many steps are involved and exactly where they are at any given moment, reducing confusion and building confidence throughout the journey.

Focus Design

Visual Hierarchy Through Color

Color and type size were used intentionally to direct user focus green signals a completed step, while gray indicates steps yet to be taken, allowing users to scan their progress instantly without any guesswork.

Trust Building

Building Brand Landing Page

A dedicated landing page was designed to introduce Fastship to potential users communicating who we are, highlighting key features, showcasing testimonials and partner logos, and guiding visitors toward signing up with a clear and compelling call to action.

Achievements

Raised 10M THB in Seed Funding

CloudCommerce secured seed funding from three investors DTAC Accelerate, Intania Open Innovation Club (IOIC), and 500 Tuk Tuks validating the product vision and its potential to reshape cross-border e-commerce for Thai entrepreneurs. The investment marked a pivotal milestone, signaling strong market confidence in both the platform and the team behind it.

2nd Runner Up · SPARK2 Global Accelerator
